Spinal Muscular Atrophy
Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) is a group of genetic diseases that lead to the degeneration of spinal motor neurons. This results in weakness and atrophy (wasting) of the muscles innervated by these neurons.
Neurological Physiotherapists at ANR can provide support, movement based training, postural control, mobility and physical activity. We can help with pain management for musculoskeletal issues and liaise with other professionals such as orthotists, speech pathologists, occupational therapists and seating specialists.
