The Association of Massage Therapists (AMT) is currently campaigning the Federal Government to recognise remedial therapists within the NDIS.

Why it Matters:
Remedial massage therapists have specific skills in treating clients with chronic pain, mobility issues, and other complex needs. Exclusion from the NDIS prevents massage therapists from providing care to a key group of clients who find great benefit alongside their other physical therapies such as neuro-physiotherapy. Many clients with disabilities rely on remedial massage but must either pay out of pocket or miss out due to NDIS restrictions. Recognition within the NDIS would reinstate services and create new opportunities for massage therapists to deliver services to a growing and under-served population, particularly in regional and rural Australia where access to health services can be limited.
