Hydrotherapy

Did you know at ANR we offer Hydrotherapy?

Hydrotherapy is therapy in water!

The benefits of therapy in water:

The buoyancy and warmth of the water allows more freedom of movement, relaxes muscles and reduces stress on joints.

Water has the special ability to decrease the effects of gravity, so it can help support your body weight. This means that many people are able to move more freely and through greater range than on land. The warm water helps your muscles to relax and promotes an increased range of joint movement.

Hydrotherapy pools are warmer than normal swimming pools, running at around 32 degrees or warmer.

What can be done in the water:

Hydrotherapy is beneficial for many conditions and in the water, we can safely work on your

  • Balance and coordination
  • Strength and flexibility
  • Muscle tension and pain

This can be achieved through individualised hydrotherapy programs that have been created by your Neuro Physiotherapist. This ensures you are doing the most appropriate exercises working towards your specific goals.

More about what we offer at ANR:

We offer one on one hydrotherapy sessions with a Neuro Physiotherapist.

We also offer group hydrotherapy classes, lead by one of our Neuro Physiotherapists and assisted by allied health assistants.  Group classes are fantastic, feasible and fun!
